Parents Centre are a not-for-profit organisation who supports parents with knowledge and skills to better prepare them for birthing and parenting. Christchurch Parents Centre is one of 52 Parents Centres across the country.
We know that parenting is a huge life change because many of us have been on the same journey. Parents join for a coffee group or antenatal class and leave feeling rejuvenated, supported and understood.
Our programmes support and educate parents with children of various ages and stages of development.
Christchurch Parents Centre is a non-profit voluntary organisation which relies on volunteers to carry out the work that we do supporting expectant parents, new parents and families.
We are always on the lookout for new volunteers – if you think you could help, we would love to hear from you!
If you’d like to give something back to Christchurch Parents Centre and the community, come and see what we can offer.
For more information, please contact Christchurch Parents Centre on 021 087 26943 or email chch.parentscentre@xtra.co.nz.
Committee Member If having a specific role doesn’t suit you and you just like to muck in helping with anything we would welcome you as a Committee Member. It is a great opportunity to be more involved with Parents Centre while meeting some new people.
Childbirth Education course Liaison If you don’t feel you can commit to a monthly meeting, perhaps a more general volunteer could interest you? Being a Childbirth Education course Liaison Person means you only need to commit your time to one night per week for seven weeks. You will work with our Childbirth Educators to ensure the course runs smoothly and even share your parenting experiences if there is an opportunity. If you are interested in any of these volunteer roles, please email chch.parentscentre@xtra.co.nz
